Stomach FAQ

Author: supadupac

Inuit stomach

Ever wonder what makes you sick? What helps your stomach and doesn’t? Here are some good frequently asked questions answered for you.

1. Does gum help you digest a meal? – Yes, the chewing of the gum makes more saliva which makes more enzymes for digesting food.

2. Sleeping on a full stomach will make you sleep poorly and  could give you acid reflux.

3. If you can’t poop once a day, is that a bad sign? – Nope, a normal bowel movement can range from 3-times a day to 3-times a week. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never gone 3 times a week.

4. Is it true that when your stomach grows, it’s time to eat? – Yes! Your stomach moves more often on an empty stomach. It does this to keep the liquids inside of the stomach moving.

5. Does stress make your belly look bigger? – Nope! If you eat because you’re stressed, possibly.

6. Is Gum digested like regular food? – Nope. Gum comes out whole and is not digested, you just don’t notice it.

7. Making your stomach smaller? Can you do that? – Nope, unless of course you have surgery. Your stomach never physically shrinks, so there’s no point in fasting in trying to get it to shrink. What happens is your body just gets used to eating smaller portions and your hormones change.
